A look at elections in Taylor County and beyond

There is a liquor election that will legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption within Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 before some Taylor County voters this fall.

District No. 3 covers a large area of the southern part of the province.

The demand stems from plans to build the Boy’s Travel Center northeast of Tuscola, near the U.S. Highway 83/84 subdivision.

Construction is underway on the site.

The county’s election director, Frida Rajan, said in August that the election petition required 779 valid signatures.

It was returned on June 28, and of the 1,086 signatures collected, 887 were considered valid.

Two cities within the constituency are already “wet” – the city of Buffalo Gap, the 2013 election result, and the city of Tuscola, which held local option elections in May 2019. The results of these elections will not replace the current slate. situation in those cities.
