Arena AnalyticsToday, a company that helps people and organizations shape the future of work using cutting-edge artificial intelligence and data analytics, today announced the formation of the Arena Ethics Advisory Board, a group of distinguished industry experts, academics, and thought leaders who provide direction and direction to help the company act ethically and responsibly in the development and deployment of its products.

The Board of Directors meets on a quarterly basis with the goal of providing actionable insights to Arena Analytics in order to help create and run best practices around machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions. The board also launched a content project examining barriers to employment in today’s workforce, the first of which can be found here.

He leads the Arena’s Ethics Advisory Board John Somer, Principal Analyst at HR Examiner, an independent analyst firm that covers HR technology and the intersection of people, technology, and work. Sommer’s combination of experience over the course of his career gives him a broad and unique perspective on the industry and the issue of ethics in HR technology specifically.

“You cannot have a serious discussion about the ‘ethics’ of any technology solution without examining the biases of human creators and the structural inequalities that influence the design and production of these systems,” Somser said. “We have compiled a broad range of both expertise and live experience, enabling us to offer multiple perspectives to influence evolving questions of ethics in AI and related technologies.”
