The app will be released as part of a collaboration between Charging Robotics and Make My Day – an electric vehicle fleet management company.
TEL AVIV, Israel, Nov. 25, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Medigus Ltd. announced. (the “Company”) (Nasdaq: MDGS), a technology company engaged in advanced medical solutions, innovative internet technologies, electric vehicle (“EV”) and charging solutions, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Charging Robotics Ltd. A beta version of the user interface application (“App”) for the Wireless Charging Robot Charging Robot is expected to be released by the end of the year. The beta version of the user interface will be released as part of a collaboration between Charging Robotics and Make My Day, a company that develops apps and services for electric vehicle fleet management and optimization of charging and battery usage.
Using the app developed by Make My Day, Charging Robotics customers will be able to request charging service provided by the robots, receive billing information, receive driving instructions to a destination as well as receive real-time data on EV electricity consumption and battery charge status.
The first product to be released by Charging Robotics will be a robot for automatically charging electric vehicles for disabled drivers. These drivers have a very difficult time charging electric vehicles because the process of taking the cable from the charger and connecting it to the electric vehicle is very challenging for individuals who use wheelchairs or have other conditions that limit their movement. With a custom Charging Robotics system, and with a tap in the app developed by Make My Day, the robot will automatically charge the vehicle.
This development will allow disabled drivers to easily charge their vehicles and will significantly reduce the access areas around the charger required by the cable-based chargers currently available. The electric vehicle charging system for disabled drivers is scheduled to begin trial testing during the first quarter of 2023.
With so many unique capabilities, Make My Day can be used as a user interface for charging robots. The system includes driving navigation algorithms that take into account the electricity consumption of the electric vehicle and the state of charge of the battery, such as a planned driving route that will ensure optimal use of the battery. The system includes real-time communication with certain types of vehicles that allows the battery charge status to be read, providing an accurate driving route plan. The system includes a database of all chargers in the area, so the system can advise the driver to charge using Charging Robotics or other charging point operators’ systems. The latter alternative opens the door to a revenue stream based on charging bot affiliates by sending drivers to use other operators’ chargers.
“We have enjoyed an excellent collaboration with Make My Day in developing this user interface and we are sure it will add great value to our users,” said Hovav Gilan, CEO of Charging Robotics.
About charging robots
Charging Robotics is developing an automatic wireless charging system intended for public parking lots. The benefit of an automated wireless charging system is that it will automatically align with high precision the power transmitter to the onboard power receiver, allowing for very high charging efficiency. The system will be fully automatic, eliminating the need for the driver to remove the vehicle after charging is completed, which will increase the utilization of the shipper and profits for the parking operator. Charing Robotics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medigus Ltd.
