Customers rely on us to provide the most productive and secure industrial robots as they tackle supply chain issues and target 24/7 operations.
OTTO Motors today announced the release of a software upgrade that significantly increases the speed of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) for material handling. The release improves AMR speed by up to ten percent for the OTTO 1500 v1.2, the company’s longtime workhorse. By continuously improving the AMR program, OTTO Motors ensures that its robots become faster, safer, more reliable and more productive with a higher return on investment the longer customers own them.
“Customers rely on us to provide the most productive and safest industrial robots as they tackle supply chain issues and target 24/7 operations,” said Jay Judkowitz, Vice President of Product, OTTO Motors. “The latest version of the software significantly reduces task completion times for our robots, which directly affects the overall productivity and return on investment for customers. We also aim to improve the overall user experience in this version, increasing efficiency for plant managers and floor managers. We are laser focused on upgrading our products continuously. ”
The previous version of the OTTO Motors program in June 2022 armed customers with advanced tools to analyze their system, identify risks and optimize AMR-driven material flow.
The latest version of OTTO Motors software is packed with many new features. Here are some highlights:
Optimized AMR speed for higher productivity
Introducing graph-based mapping, an improved approach to bot path planning that ensures faster task planning, more predictable paths, smoother and faster transformation; Resulting in reduced takt times and increased ROI for the client.
Improvements in the average speed of OTTO AMRs as they become smarter at detecting small objects on the ground from a distance. This enables them to maneuver quickly and smoothly around any obstacle.
Increase usability and speed up the troubleshooting process
Introducing Auto-localization, an exciting new feature that prompts bots to localize on their own with the click of a button. The results are almost instant and do not require any effort from the user.
Introducing an easy-to-use bag collector that helps operators and ground managers get quick troubleshooting support for 3D cameras on OTTO AMRs. It will enable users to capture video data with minimal effort and help them maximize playback time.
Customers can now try out Blockly, a visual programming editor that allows them to tell bots what to do without having to write code. Using this simple interface, customers can create user-defined workflows for bots and perform custom event handling such as security breakpoints.
OTTO Motors has made it possible for manufacturers in various industries including automobiles, industrial and consumer goods to adopt automation and reduce material handling costs up to $9 an hour. The latest version of their software is another step in helping organizations create safer and more productive work environments where AMRs tackle repetitive and dangerous tasks, while humans tackle more specialized jobs.
