Tom Lehrer and I, The Tom Lehrer Trust 2007, hereby grant the following permissions:
All copyrights to lyrics or music written or composed by him have been waived and thus these songs are now in the public domain. All my songs that were not copyrighted, which were freely available for a long time, are now also in the public domain.
The latter includes all lyrics written by me for music by others, although the music for such parodies, if copyrighted by the composers, is of course not included without permission from their copyright holders. The songs translated on this website can be found on YouTube in their original languages.
Performance and recording rights for all of my songs are included in this permission. Translation rights are also included.
In particular, permission is hereby granted to any person to set any such lyrics to their own music, or to set any such music to their own lyrics, and to publish or perform parodies or misrepresentations of such songs without charge or fear of legal action.
Certain recording, film, and television rights to songs written by me are merely a non-exclusive license by me to the record, film, or television companies. All such rights are now herewith released and therefore require no permission from me or Maelstrom Music, which I’m just in another hat for, nor from the record, film or television companies involved.
In short, I no longer hold any rights to any of my songs.
So help yourselves and don’t send me any money.
This website will be shutting down some date in the not too distant future, so if you want to download anything, don’t wait too long.
The songs are available on Location For download at no cost. Usually lyrics, some mp3 files.
