Zimmer Biomet opens its Dubai Innovation Center as demand for orthopedic robots and technology increases

Zimmer Biomet Holdings, a leading global medical technology company, has opened a new innovation center in Dubai to showcase the company’s advanced technologies, surgical robots and implants to healthcare clients.

“Our customers can now get closer to our solutions and better understand how Zimmer Biomet’s technology and data can improve healthcare efficiency and patient outcomes,” said Wilfried van Zuylen, President, Zimmer Biomet EMEA.

In January, Zimmer Biomet opened a new office in Dubai to meet growing demand from hospitals and clinics in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT).

Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park, part of the TECOM Group PJSC, said: “Dubai is on the fast track to becoming a primary healthcare destination. Digital transformation and innovation in medical technology are allowing Dubai to raise the bar for excellence in healthcare, particularly with a new research and development program furthering these efforts. Dubai Science Park plays a major role in this ambition. Our community of leading science, biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies is strengthening the sector with advanced technologies and research areas and a new Innovation Center by Zimmer Biomet will further enhance Dubai’s impact. “

“Zimmer Biomet’s Dubai Innovation Center is the next step in our investment in the region and demonstrates our commitment to helping clients maintain momentum during a period of healthcare transformation,” said Eric Antos, Vice President, Zimmer Biomet Emerging Markets.

“At the Dubai Innovation Center, clients will learn more about patients’ growing expectations for personalized and connected digital experiences and how we provide data-driven insights that help increase efficiency, relieve patient pain, and improve quality of life for people around the world,” said Mr. Antos.

As a core part of the company’s offering, ZBEdge brings together many of Zimmer Biomet’s technologies, implants and services to offer a unique orthopedic medtech platform.

“ZBEdge, Zimmer Biomet’s group of integrated digital technologies, robotics, implants and advisory services, has the ability to work together and collect and share data across the entire patient pathway,” said Farah Hamdan, Managing Director, Zimmer Biomet MENAT.

In pursuit of optimized care, surgeons and care teams can make decisions for individual patients with clinical insights drawn from data and precise techniques, in the operating room and at every other stage of care.

ZBEdge can help improve efficiency by connecting technologies, simplifying communications, and automating workflows. Care teams benefit from real-time understanding of their hospitals’ performance and are better positioned to seize opportunities to unlock efficiencies and improve outcomes.

“By connecting Zimmer Biomet digital technologies, robotics, implants and services, we aim to empower surgeons, administrators and patients with smarter, faster and better solutions,” said Ms. Hamdan.

The MENAT region is an important customer base for Zimmer Biomet, with a significant increase in interest in adoption of its healthcare technologies over the past ten years.
